Official Wilbarger County Record Routes

For a county jail roster, a booking record, a release or transfer record, or a booking photograph, start with the Wilbarger County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s page does not list a separate records-unit telephone or public-information email. Send a written request under Texas Government Code Chapter 552, identify the record sought and the approximate booking date, and ask the office to identify its current public-information delivery method. Ask for electronic copies if available and request a current fee estimate before charges are incurred. No Wilbarger-specific response promise or booking-photo fee is published.

The courthouse at 1700 Wilbarger Street in Vernon lists normal weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call the jail directly for its operating hours, visitation, bond, and custody questions.

Use the route that matches the record. A city arrest report may be held by Vernon Police Department, 1306 Main Street, Vernon, phone 940-553-3311. Vernon offers a Public Information Request Form, but its published form is dated, so confirm the current submission route, fee schedule, and payment procedure with the city. For a felony case or a court disposition, contact District Clerk Brenda Peterson, 1700 Wilbarger Street, Room 33, Vernon, TX 76384, 940-553-3411. For County Clerk records, contact Jana Kennon, 1700 Wilbarger Street, Room 15, Vernon, TX 76384, 940-552-5486, jkennon@co.wilbarger.tx.us.

  • For a current custody listing or a written booking-record request, use the county guide and the Sheriff’s Office route above.
  • For a warrant check or a safe resolution path, use the Sheriff's Most Wanted guide and contact the appropriate court or law-enforcement office.
  • For a reported local arrest, begin with the county’s recent-booking and roster guidance, then verify the record with the agency that made or holds it.
  • For a Vernon police report or photo held by the city, use Vernon’s public-information process. A city arrest and county jail custody are not always the same record path.
  • For a sentenced person in state custody, use the Texas Department of Criminal Justice offender search; it is not a county booking lookup.
  • For federal custody, use the BOP Inmate Locator. For current ICE custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Neither is a public booking-photo search.
